Red Velvet Bullet Holder by Ellis Faas

So, I may have left out the fact that I purchased the Ellis Faas holder in my previous post. Dear readers, it is because I am shameful of my uncontrollable makeup addiction and the need to have a complete set of everything that I love.

I blame my mother for this. She was always a makeup junkie too!

Besides all things makeup, I also have a cupcake addiction. Particularly the Red Velvet with Cream Cheese kind. It is no surprise, then, when I was tossing up between the original Ellis Faas Holder, and this novelty Red Velvet one, my finger went clickety click on the Red Velvet.

(I don't know why I am speaking like this today - too much sugar, perhaps?)

On to the pictures...

The Case

The top compartment opens up and provides space for the finishing powder

Twist the top compartment open and place the pens with the label facing up

You can twist the bottom to push up the pen that you want to use

My red velvet cake!
Hope you have enjoyed the photos! I have decided on a short post today and let my photos do the talking.

Have a great start of the week, wherever you are!

Ellis Faas Spring Kit

I ordered the Spring Kit from Ellis Faas a couple weeks back and to my delight, my order arrived within four days of them sending a shipping notification. The time frame and the cost (USD 4.50) is just mind boggling and disproportionate to me, and I feel so thankful to Ellis Faas for providing such a wonderful costumer service!

Anyways, I've had some time now to play and experiment with the Milky Lip L207, Eye Lights E304 and Creamy Eyes E106 and I can definitely recommend this Spring Set to everyone!

All three items come with a brush applicator. It took me about 50 turns to get the first product out but apparently that's one too many because I had enough for about two applications. Anyway, I just did a really heavy swatch so nothing was wasted :)

The Creamy Eyes was a total surprise for me. I was expecting more lilac in the shade but its more brown and flesh toned than lilac. Nonetheless, its a beautiful neutral. My photos don't do this shade justice, its a lot more interesting in real life.

The Eye Lights is gorgeous!! Its so easy to create "party eyes" with this. I do think that any shade from the Eye Lights range is a must-buy from Ellis.

The Milky Lips is hybrid of brown, peach and rose. Its very work appropriate and I have been wearing this shade the most out of the three items.

Bottom Line - Its a good starter kit if you are new to Ellis Faas. I also can't wait for the Summer Kit to be repromoted! I think I've made it my personal mission to buy every seasonal kit from Ellis Faas! :D

Dior Waterlily

Dior Waterlily is a knockout varnish shade from Dior's spring collection and as such, it has been widely covered by various nail and make up bloggers alike. Try as I might, I could not resist adding my post/review on this baby. I'd like to think that we can all do with one more review ;)

Aaargh its soooo pretty!! Waterlily is a warm pastel green, and while its not blaringly obvious in the pictures, it contains very fine gold particles which add to the uniqueness of the shade.

The applicator is an angled brush and while I have never encountered this type of applicator before, it was quite easy to use. The varnish is a little thick, so two coats will suffice.

There is a distinct rose smell upon drydown and while it didn't bother me, I did notice it from time to time.

Two (Waterlily-ed) thumbs up from me!

I'm Celebrating Spring with Bronzers

I'm trying something new this year, instead of using more colourful eyeshadows for spring, I'm adding bronzers to my routine.

Now, I never liked using dark bronzers so the ones because I felt like a bit of a clown when I'm wearing them.  The ones I'm showcasing today are lighter ones that I am able to use all year round.  I tend to choose ones that are only a shade or two darker than my complexion so I look like I got a bit of colour but not like I fell into a bit of mud.  Also, instead of using them to contour, I've been layering them (lightly) underneath my blush.  So far, the ones I've been using the most are the Giorgio Armani Sheer Brozner in 1, Edward Bess in Daydream (the old version), Cle de Peau Cheek Colour Duo in 5 and MAC Irridescent Loose Powder in Golden Bronze.

So far, this has been working well for me.  I usually add a nice lighter pink blush on top of it like Burberry Blush in Misty, Armani Sheer Blush 11 (I think this one's been discontinued but still one of my favourites), Cle de Peau Cheek Color Duo 3.

I think my next quest is to find a blush that emulates my sun kissed (just before I burn) cheeks.  Any suggestions?

Blog Stall...

3. Guerlain Terra Azzurra Collection 2012

This year, Guerlain is once again teaming up with Pucci to create a limited edition Perles Meteorites. Half bronzer and half blush, this hybrid powder has a lightweight formula and offers a universal harmony of four shades. The outer case pays tribute to the paneling of a Riva yacht with an ebony-colored varnished wood. Presented in an accessory pouch printed with the Pucci motif, this is the ultimate summer accessory.

The case for this LE meteorites is just drop dead gorgeous! The mix of bronzing and blushing shades has me drooling all over my keyboard. This is a must have!
